M7 Standard versus the M7 Premium. Which is right for you?

7/2/2018

By now, you’ve probably heard of Kubota’s versatile M7 Series, our most powerful tractor yet. Introduced in 2015, the M7 Series was developed after an in-depth evaluation of the relationships between farming operations and workers, as well as between farming and the environment. We went back to the basics to address the issues that farmers around the world face, and as a result, developed the most capable, most powerful Kubota tractor ever.

The M7 Series includes 8 models in the 128 to 168 horsepower range. Packed with a high horsepower Tier 4 Final engine, the M7 has what it takes to tackle commercial livestock, row-crop production and more.

But beyond several shared features of the M7 Series – same engine, same cab size, same emissions and available applications – the M7 Premium and M7 Premium KVT (Kubota Variable Transmission) offer options for increased performance and versatility. Let’s take a look.

More technology, more power and more features.

Here’s where the discussion begins. The M7 Series tractor encapsulates the high-quality standards found in all Kubota products. M7 Standard features include:

  • Pressure Compensated, Fixed Displacement Hydraulics
  • Three Mechanical rear remotes
  • 540/540E/1000/1000E PTO
  • Air suspension seat
  • High capacity three-point hitch
  • High spec/spacious cab (includes instructor seat)
  • 24x24 Semi-power shift transmission
  • Available 40 x 40 semi-power shift transmission (creep)

M7 Premium. Taking performance further.

The M7 Premium offers an increased level of exceptional features. Here are just a few of the upgrades:

A robust front axle, with optional adjustable hydraulic suspension on Premium & Premium KVT tractors, for increased traction and power to the ground while working in the field.  The hydraulic front suspension also adds a smoother ride and stability when traveling from field to field.

A heavy duty,100 mm diameter, 110” long bar axle, which allows you to easily adjust wheels to your desired row width, rather than the fixed flange axle on the M7 Standard.

The M7 Premium is equipped with a premium hydraulic system. This system is closed-center load-sensing, and allows you to precisely adjust hydraulic flow, even while running on more than one rear remote valve. The M7 Standard comes with pressure compensated, fixed displacement hydraulics.

A modern, comfortable cab, featuring mechanical suspension, a 12” monitor and electronic, automated switches.

The cab includes our EZ-Command center, a unique multi-function operating lever and arm rest that puts most of the M7's major functions on a single easy-to-use control console. Your right hand is always on the lever, leaving your left hand free for steering. Tractor operations couldn’t be simpler or more convenient.

KVT (Kubota Variable Transmission) provides a virtually infinite number of forward and reverse speeds, letting you work at the optimum speed for each job, up to 32 MPH.

Ultimately, this tractor is more comfortable, with advanced technology and options, making the M7 Premium easier for automating and completing the repetitive tasks farmers face. And at an additional cost of around $19K, the M7 Premium tractor might make good sense for your operation.

Premium M7 Series features include:

  • Closed Center, Load Sensing (CCLS) Hydraulic System
  • Four electro-hydraulic rear remotes
  • Mechanically suspended cab
  • K-Monitor
  • Available suspended front axle (30 mph Travel Speed)
  • 24x24 Semi-power shift transmission
  • Available 40 x 40 semi-power shift transmission (creep)
  • 110" Bar Axle
  • High spec and spacious cab (includes instructor seat)

Premium KVT (Kubota Variable Transmission) features include:

  • Closed Center, Load Sensing (CCLS) Hydraulic System
  • Four electro-hydraulic rear remotes
  • Mechanically suspended cab
  • K-Monitor Pro
  • Available suspended front axle (30 MPH Travel Speed)
  • Kubota Variable Transmission
  • 110" Bar Axle
  • High spec and spacious cab (includes instructor seat)

Whichever tractor you choose, you’ll get exceptionally clean performance.

We also believe that improving the environment can improve your farming operations—and your bottom line. That’s why our engineers constantly strive to lower emissions and improve fuel efficiency for our engines. For the M7, we combined Kubota’s DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) with SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) technologies to create an exceptionally clean engine that meets the strict Tier4 Final regulations.
