The Challenge

How can we reduce carbon emissions while securing high tractor productivity at the same time? Green spaces are essential where a lot of people live together. They help to maintain a healthy environment in urban areas. However, densely populated areas also have strict regulations controlling the exhaust and noise emissions of the machinery needed to tend to parks and gardens. Environmental care is now a key driver when choosing ground care maintenance equipment.

In more rural environments, customers who use compact tractors for property maintenance are also looking for reduced noise and maintenance, alternative fuels, and easier operability. Also, US customers are preparing for anticipated increasing regulations, specifically in California and New York, that more closely resemble those of Europe.

Solution

Pure Engine Solution

Aiming for further fuel efficiency of our existing engines

Electronically-Controlled Small Engine

D902-K / D1105-K

Introducing two models of electronically controlled small diesel engines equipped with our new combustion system TVCR.
It also enables a decrease in engine output when using HVO* that conform to EN 15940 have been suppressed for sustained high performance.
*HVO:Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil

Advantages of Kubota Electronically
Controlled Small Diesel Engine

  • Low fuel consumption
  • Zero Visible SmokeCompatibility
  • Drivability
  • Integrated control

Highly recommended for:

Machine and equipment manufacturers who need to develop small applications with lower fuel consumption, controlling engines and collecting data from engines, but don't want to expand the engine mounting space any further.

Hybrid Solution

Kubota engines that takes advantage of electric motors

Introducing engines equipped with electric motors that have been developed under Kubota's knowledge of engine installation in various off-road applications.

About Hybrid Architecture
With electrification of passenger cars becoming more and more commonplace, Kubota believes that a hybrid system combining engine and electrical power is an effective choice for reducing CO2 from industrial engines, which require high output and high load.

The architecture of a hybrid system is indicated by P0 to P4, where the number combined with P indicates the motor's position relative to other components, as shown in the video above.
In addition to the already announced Micro Hybrid (P0) and P2 Hybrid, we will introduce the new P1 Hybrid this time.

Service

We will continue to work to support the stable operation of Kubota engines.

Kubota believes that once a Kubota engine has been installed as a power source for industrial machinery, after-sales service, including quick and accurate servicing and repair, as well as the provision of service parts, is very important for the long and reliable operation of the engine.
“We want all of our customers to choose Kubota Engine because of our high level of service.” Kubota Engine Service is working on improving our service quality with this mind.
