Kubota’s “Geared to Give” program, in partnership with Farmer Veteran Coalition, matches military veterans’ needs with donated Kubota equipment. This year, for the program’s five-year anniversary, Kubota teamed up with country superstar Brantley Gilbert to honor the 2020 recipients with a special event at his farm in Alabama on National Farmer’s Day.

Due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, two of the recipients attended in person, while the other three joined via web cam. The 2020 recipients selected from this year’s FVC Fellowship Fund are:

  • Midwest Division: U.S. Army veteran Cody Miller of Full Moon Farms in Thayer, Iowa, was awarded a 250-hour lease on an M7 with loader and baler.

  • Northern Division: U.S. Marine Corps veteran and current West Virginia Air National Guard pilot Joshua Nelson of Nelson Family Farms in Ripley, West Virginia, was awarded an MX Series tractor.

  • Southeast Division: Retired U.S. Army veteran Kara Rutter of Project Victory Gardens in Aiken, South Carolina, was awarded an LX Series tractor.

  • Western Division: U.S. Navy veteran Bodhi Anderson of Sugar Hill Farmstead in Honomu, Hawaii, was awarded a Sidekick and a $10,000 grant.

  • Central Division: U.S. Marine Corps veteran Andrew Edelen of Edelen Farms in Alice, Texas, was awarded an L Series tractor.
